Stabilicor
Stabilicor® absorbs more sound than traditional vinyl flooring, resulting in quieter steps and a more comfortable feel underfoot. The engineered polymer core provides additional strength while maintaining just enough flexibility.
Installation
The adhesive, floor covering, and area to receive flooring must be maintained at a temperature of 65° to 95° F (18.30° to 35.02° C) and at a relative humidity of 30% to 60% for 72 hours before, during, and after installation. Follow the flooring manufacturer’s guidelines regarding site conditions and installation.

Porous Surfaces: May be used either wet or as a pressure sensitive adhesive over porous surfaces. To use wet, apply adhesive with the recommended trowel and allow to flash off for 5-10 minutes before installing flooring. Lay tile, plank or sheet goods into wet adhesive according to flooring manufacturer’s instructions. Adhesive must transfer to floor product to ensure proper bond. To use as a pressure sensitive adhesive, dry to a tacky state and then install flooring according to flooring manufacturer’s instructions within 3 hours.

Non-Porous Surfaces–Tile & Plank: Apply with the recommended trowel, allow to dry completely from yellow to tan, and lay in the tile or plank according to the flooring manufacturers instructions within 3 hours. The highly aggressive pressure sensitive grip prevents slippage and minimizes seam gaps. Drying time is 45-90 minutes and will vary depending on temperature and humidity. Installation over areas of incomplete drying can result in job failure.
Installation
Floor Preparation
All substrates or surfaces must be level, dry, clean, smooth and structurally sound. They shall be free of any foreign materials that might prevent proper absorption, including dust, dirt, solvent, paint, wax, oil, grease, residual adhesive, adhesive removers, incompatible sealers, fire-retardant chemicals, fungicides, release agents, alkaline salts, excessive carbonation, laitance, mold, mildew, and curing, sealing, hardening or parting compounds.

The substrate or surface and HF525Z must be acclimated in an enclosed building with the HVAC operational between 60-95°F (15-35°C), and between 30-65% relative humidity, for at least 72 hours before, during and after the installation.

Installation Instructions Once base substrate or surface is properly prepped as outlined above, evenly spread HF525Z onto surface using a 3/8” Short Nap Paint Roller. HF525Z can be used as either a one-coat or two-coat system. When used as a two-coat system, allow the first coat to fully cure before applying the second coat perpendicular to the first coat. Cure time is approximately 1-2 hrs per coat under acceptable temperature and humidity conditions.
Installation
Preparing Surface:
  • Store adhesive at a minimum temperature of 68°F (20°C) for 24 hours prior to installation.
  • Ensure substrate, flooring and surrounding areas are clean and dust-free. Damp-mop substrate if dust is present.
  • HVAC must be continuously operated for a minimum of 72 hours at a temperature of no less than 68°F (20°C) prior to installation.
  • Protect from overspray with a spray shield, drop cloths, paper or masking.
Applying Adhesive:
  • Shake aerosol can well.
  • Remove white cap.
  • Stand straight up to spray. Hold can upside down, approximately 20-30 inches (50-76 cm) from the substrate, aim at floor and press tip with finger.
  • Walk right to left smoothly. Adhesive should spray out in a wide mist and fall similar to snow.
  • NOTE: Spraying in a sweeping motion may result in an inconsistent spray pattern. Excess buildup or inconsistent spray pattern on substrate may cause telegraphing. Avoid extremely heavy application.
  • If overspray occurs, it may be removed with a damp cloth while the adhesive is still wet.
Final Steps:
  • Allow adhesive to dry until there is no adhesive transfer when lightly touched. (10-20 min)
  • Roll flooring with a 75-100 lb (34-45 kg) roller within 1 hour after installation to complete the bonding process.
  • After rolling, floor is ready for all access.
Installation
Floating Systems:
  • Sub floor must be clean, dry, flat and structurally sound. If relative humidity exceeds flooring manufacturer’s guidelines, a 6 mil polythene film (or equivalent) should be used.
  • Roll out the Happy Step™ leaving a minimum of 1/8” expansion along the walls. Seams should be butted tight to ensure no gapping (taping the seam is optional).
  • Always try to run Happy Step™ perpendicular to the plank floor covering. For LVT tile, Happy Step™ should be run on a 45 degree angle.
  • Follow the flooring manufacturer’s guidelines for installation of their specific flooring type.

*Happy Step™ is also suitable for nail/staple down applications for engineered and solid hardwood flooring.
Double Glue Systems
  • Sub floor must be clean, dry, flat and structurally sound.
  • The use of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, applied with a 1/16”w x 1/32”d x 1/32” spacing notched trowel to ensure evenness of the application, is suggested for attaching cushion to the floor.
  • After the adhesive sets up, roll out the Happy Step™ leaving a minimum of 1/8” expansion along the walls. Seams should be butted tight to ensure no gapping.
  • Roll the Happy Step™ with a maximum 50 lb. roller at a 45 degree angle to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Always try to run Happy Step™ perpendicular to the plank floor covering. For LVT tile, run on a 45 degree angle.
Single Glue Systems
  • Sub floor must be clean, dry, flat and structurally sound. If relative humidity exceeds flooring manufacturer’s guidelines, a 6 mil polythene film (or equivalent) should be used.
  • Roll out the Happy Step™ leaving a minimum of 1/8” expansion along the walls. Seams should be butted tight to ensure no gapping. Tape together with a 2” wide clear packing tape (do not use thick tapes that might telegraph through).
  • Always try to run Happy Step™ perpendicular to the plank floor covering. For LVT tile, run on a 45 degree angle.

    *Approved Adhesive: HF9100 & HF9200

Updated as of 01/01/24

Happy Feet International warrantees this product to the original purchaser against wear out for a period of:

  • Residential: Limited Lifetime
  • Light Commercial: 5 years

What is covered and for how long?

LVT moldings are suitable for use in climate-controlled (35%-65% RH and 60°-85° F) indoor installations only. For light commercial installations (example: common areas in multi-unit dwellings and low-traffic retail shops) the product is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for 5 years from the date of purchase. If a defect covered by this warranty is reported to Happy Feet in writing within 5 years of purchase, Happy Feet will supply new material of the same or similar grade sufficient to repair or replace the defective material providing the material was installed and maintained properly and used as intended and recommended. Wear out is defined as a complete removal of pattern and/or color from normal traffic and maintenance. In the event the wear out occurs within specified product warranty time frame of the date of purchase, Happy Feet will provide replacement materials only.

Warranty does not include the following

  1. Damage due to stains, burns, cuts, gouges, scuffs, scratches, indentations, and other accidents or abuse.
  2. Damage caused by vacuum cleaner beater bar, floor cleaning machines, caster wheels, and/or cutting from sharp objects.
  3. Discoloration or bond release from hydrostatic pressure or excessive moisture/heat caused by such things as flooding, plumbing, or appliance leaks.
  4. Installation where material was not installed according to Happy Feet's specifications and recommended usage.
  5. Dissatisfaction due to improper installation, maintenance, or irregularities.
  6. Reductions in gloss or buildup of residue due to improper maintenance or normal wear and gloss reduction/scratches from use.
  7. Minor color, shade, or texture variations between samples or printed color photography and the actual material.
  8. Installation-related errors or damage including improper conditioning of jobsite and flooring materials, including construction damage after installation.
  9. Damage caused by abuse such as moving appliances or heavy objects across the moldings without adequate protection.

We exclude and will not be liable for or pay incidental, consequential, or special damages under our warranties.

By this we mean any loss, expense, or damage other than to the molding itself that may result from a defect in the flooring. Our limited warranties constitute the only express warranties for the product purchased.

  • This limited product warranty does not cover the installation of the product.

DISCLAIMERS: Walking is an enormously complex activity. Significant factors that directly affect slip resistance properties are the material type of both shoe sole and floor covering, roughness, and surface structure of floor covering, contaminates, the walker's weight, age, gait, fitness, alertness, and vision. Values of acceptable SCOF (dry) or DCOF (wet) generally used within the flooring industry are published by other parties. While Happy Feet has independently tested our transitions, it does not purport to address any safety concerns of slip resistance, the accuracy of any test method, safety threshold, or the measuring apparatus (tribometers). Another important factor outside of our control is how the floor covering is maintained, therefore, no warranty for any slip resistance properties can be provided.
